what is organic? the definition- 

"organic agriculture is a holistic system with the primary goal of optimizing the health & productivity of interdependent communities of soil life, plants, animals & people. management practices are carefully selected with an intent to restore & then maintain ecological harmony on the farm , it's surrounding environment & ultimately the whole planetary ecosystem" as stated on newman's own organics website

in other words,

organic is "a term that has acquired the meaning of foods grown under natural conditions (without the use of inorganic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides; and either not processed, or processed without the use of additives)" as stated off answers.com. it also applies to the ecological welfare of people, animals and the environment.

& on another note, natural palm oil is used

within newman's own organics products in place of other oils. palm oil is not hydrogenated, lower than butter in saturated fat, and does not contain trans-fatty acids or cholesterol

my favorites were...

what a blessing! newman's own organics sent me a huge box full of food to sample. it came with nearly all products they produce, with a couple exceptions. I noticed the packages were color coded and when I read up on it, found out they do this to be easily distinguished. out of all the food I received, my favorites were the champion chip cookies and newman-o's mint cookies. did I mention I love sweets...?

I especially loved the champion chip cookies in regular chocolate chip flavor over everything else! they have a "different" taste to them, one that I've never came across until now. the truth is, at first I wasn't positive whether I liked them but after eating a few, I was hooked. what's cool is the chocolate chips are manufactured out of the chocolate newman's own organics produces. besides the taste, I like that they are bite size. oh and the best part- they are free of tans-fat and cholesterol. these make the perfect snack!

my other ultimate favorite would be the newman-o's in mint creme. out of 3 flavors I got to test out, this was the bomb! all it took was one cookie and the next thing I knew was two days later they were gone. generally oreo's or off brand oreo's don't come in the creme flavor mint so this was a nice change. these had a hint of mint- not too much nor too little, just right. all in all, it feels good knowing your eating organic, which has the world's people, animals & environment's best interest at heart. go green!
